Tri D Corpus d.o.o., is an IT company whose core business is production of software for woodworking and furniture industry. We are a small company, but in 10 years of presence in the market we have managed to set up an unofficial standard, as a software tool that is most commonly being used in the just in time, custom furniture production industry, in Croatia and its region, numbering several countries. Constant cooperation with experts in the woodworking branch, but also taking guide lines from small carpentry businesses, helped make Corpus well established, fully featured software tool used in the production of furniture.

About Corpus application

More than 500 companies, and more than 1000 Corpus software licenses currently in use, proves a successful approach to our customers requirements for an easy to use, fast to implement, but powerfull software tool. Corpus meets all their needs as a 'whole in one' software solution in a demanding 'step by step' nature of custom made furniture production process. Meaning that Corpus program supports the production cycle from design to computing, specification, engineering, technical processing, planning, machining, assembling .... Operation that was once fragmented into several teams addressing different tasks in the process, using particular softwares, is now integrated into a single and controled sistem of information feed. The result is speed, accuracy, efficiency and flexibility. Recognised both by the industry, and the educational sistem, Corpus is implemented in the trade high school curriculum throughout the country.

Although the vast majority of software licenses are used in Croatia, we highly appreciate the reference of growing number of companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia, Montenegro and Macedonia. The presence on the regional market is the result of exhibiting to all major international furniture industry fairs held in Ljubljana, Zagreb, Belgrade and Sarajevo.

With only few licenced programs in Austria, Germany and Sweden, we are taking first steps toward broad international presentation, as the translated software versions are prerequisite for admission.

Basic features and domains of the program

Interior Design

Corpus is a real time and real space threedimensional designing tool. No matter whether it comes to kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, offices... Simplicity and speed are the basic features in Corpus allowing the attention of designers and clients to focus on what is most important, functionality and aesthetics.

No restrictions, only the imagination's the limit.

It's own material editor, which is part of the standard version of corpus, enables the user to expand already built in palette of colors and materials with their own patterns and colors that can be used for walls, floors, ceilings and other "less important" parts of the interior. At first glance, irrelevant functions to simulate real space in reality significantly contribute to the quality expected by the client, by paying attention to the details.

 The design of furniture

Each user can create any piece of furniture to his/her likings, in addition to the great number of allready designed pieces in the menu. This can be easily done by using simple commands to quickly add shelves, doors, partitions, drawers, built-in appliances, etc.

The main characteristic of the elements created by Corpus, is that they are acting in an inteligent manner. Unlike other programs, Corpus is set to keep the desired correlation between all the parts of the element. Parameterisation makes easy and possible any creation, editing, and modifications of the element ( resizing, applying different materials, adding and removing parts...) without any hazard of error in production. Different parameterisation can be selectively applied on different parts or elements which means that the sistem is almost foolproof.

Manufacture of furniture

List of materials, the length of edge strips, cutting optimization, fittings list, drilling, milling, blueprints,...

All of these is necessary in the preparation and production. Corpus cuts preparation time to minimum. Optimization of cutting list can be done by Corpus module or exported to outside optimizers. Drilling and milling data can be saved in standard CAD and CNC system.

Along with conventional drilling function, new in Corpus is the use of macros. Macros allow drilling assignment that adapts to different situations. The situation can variate, in example, by changing the dimensions of elements, changing the position of an inner part, change of fitting type, etc. In such a case, macro will automatically adapt the drilling and make other changes if necessary to keep the element doable, functional and practical. Such changes can be also be done by use of pre defined external parameters. Data on drilling is also possible to export the appropriate CNC systems.

Calculation of costs

Determination of the cost is one of the key elements of the corpus. Calculation of the production costs is complex problem, because it is determined by so many factors and variables. Being able to make profound changes to the consignee requirements in a matter of seconds, further complicates the problem, but, on the other hand demands a smart method of calculating differentiated production costs, and retail price. Instantly created offer for the customer, which is an integral part of all versions of the corpus, is a list of elements in the project with their prices.

Prices can be determined in several ways. This can be the bare cost of materials, pre-determined fixed price for the element, user defined algorithm that balances all the pertained variables and factors retrieved from the project, ore it may be a fixed price taken from an external file. The advantage of this method in the simple distribution and exchange of files with prices on multiple computers.

The module allows the calculations to gather data on material costs in the document by which we prepare detailed cost estimates, bid, or bills.

Intervention is possible for each individual item costs, including their correction made using arbitrary parameters for calculating discount and additional costs. You can use any kind of discount as the discount amount, discount for cash payment, etc. In the same way we can calculate the additional costs, such as cutting services, image processing, bonding, drilling, transportation, etc. In addition to using pre- defined costs, user can create and use their different types of costs that can be counted as a percentage, based on the pieces or some other unit of measurement or can be added to fixed amounts.

Universality

Corpus can be used to design kitchen, bedroom, office, shops and any other furniture built by panel material. However, we find our selves often pleasantly surprised by our customers with new examples of use. Although in such cases program can not reach the full functionality, for example, calculation of costs or preparation for production, visualization can be surprisingly good.
